Composed of 25 canal houses dating from the 17th and 18th century, the Hotel Pulitzer is situated on the Prinsengracht canal, 500 metres from Dam Square and the house of Anne Frank. A labyrinth of corridors, courtyards and discreet areas, many original Dutch features such as marble stairways and baroque plasterwork have been carefully preserved. The 230 uniquely decorated guestrooms feature timber floors and exposed wood beams, and offer canal, courtyard or garden views. All include cable television, minibars, safes, and marble bathrooms with hand painted Dutch ceramic tiles.
The hotel boasts its own contemporary art collection from local artists, and offers complimentary access to its onsite gym, with rowing machines, treadmills, free weights, and more. There is wireless Internet throughout the public areas, while meeting rooms at the hotel include the Art Deco Garden Town House in the courtyard, and business services are also available. Once an old apothecary, the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a private dining area. During summer, guests can dine in the courtyard and take afternoon tea in the garden. Drinks are served in the bar situated next to the restaurant, which has three lounges and views of the Keizersgracht canal.
